Humans are bothered by conflict. We would prefer to live in a world where everyone gets along, loves their ideas, and is happy to see others succeed.
Unfortunately, that world doesn’t exist. In our world, we are going to be told “no”. Though we can’t prevent it, we can control how we react when we are rejected. And it will make or break our character.
We can see rejection as a failure, or a redirection.
When we treat “no” as a stop sign, all of our hard work becomes useless. But when we see a “no” as a fork in the road, it becomes an opportunity to take a new direction.
“A rejection is nothing more than a necessary step in the pursuit of success.” – Bo Bennett
How did you handle rejection in 2018? Did you allow it to stunt your growth?
In 2019, we have the opportunity to change our habits! Let’s challenge each other. What “no” in your life can redirect you toward success?
Being an attorney (and a father of quadruplets) comes with its share of struggles. I have learned that as long as I stick to my principles and deal with those hardships properly, I am on my way to success (Lord willing!).
May 2019 be the year of new beginnings for you and yours. As the New Testament promises in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Here’s to letting our rejections push us toward success in 2019.
